S. S McGINNIS DIES AT TERRELL

Terrell, Texas, Aug. 30 - S. S. McGinnis retired farmer of Terrell died at his home Thursday. Mr. McGinnis was a native of Wright City, Mo. He was born July 12, 1852, and married Maggie Jane Northcutt of Marthasville, Mo. April 21, 1881. Together with his family, he settled in Kaufman County in 1885 near Elmo.

He was one of the oldest citizens of Kaufman County, being past 93 years of age at the time of his death. He continuously resided in Kaufman County for sixty years. He is survived by his wife Mrs. S. S. McGinnis, and the following children; Mrs. Lola Word, Mrs. Gertrude Squires, Harry L. McGinnis, Miss Essie McGinnis, all of Terrell; Edward I. McGinnis of Dallas and Mrs. Maude Sanford of Austin; also six grandsons, all of whom are in the United States armed servies, four serving overseas . Also two great-grandchildren.

Mr. McGinnis was a member of the Methodist Church for more than fifty years. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at Terrell.
