Mrs. Mary Ellen Mainord Davis, former resident of Jackson, died at Saint Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark. Friday morning at 10:30. She was 81. She was the widow of the late W. A. Davis, salesman. Mr. and Mrs. Davis resided on Johnson Street in this city.
She was a sister of the late Robert A. Mainord who was sheriff of the county and later chief of police of Jackson.
Two sons survive—L. R. Davis and W. M. Davis, both of Jonesboro.
The body will arrive cross country Saturday and will be taken to the Griffin Funeral Home. Services will be held Sunday, but comp1ete arrangements have not been made.
