Glenn M. DeGroft, 91, of 118 Water St., Chardon, Ohio, died Sunday in his residence. He married Elsie Boger, Nov 31,(sic) 1916, in Parkersburg, WVA. He and Elsie both attended and graduated from Ohio University in Athens,Ohio. Glenn was a life-time member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity.
Glenn was a farmer and worked at General Electric Co. of Cleveland during WWI.
They lived in Chardon & Hamden, Geagua County most of their married lives. He also worked at Carlson's Hardware Store of Chardon for 30 years, retiring when he was 73 years old.
Glenn was resident manager for several wealthy "gentleman farmers". He was a member of Pilgrim-Christian Church of Chardon, a founding member of Hambden Grange.
They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1966.
Glenn died in his home, of congestive heart failure.

Survivors include his wife, daughter Bertha Jeannette(Mrs Richard Giles) of Parkman; three granddaughters, Mrs. Gerald(Marsha)Komandt of Vienna,VA; Mrs. Henry (Dixie) Warner of Troy Township; and Mrs. Terry (Terry) Shefchuk of Parkman, and six grandchildren; two brothers, Claude of Fremont, Ohio and Lewis of Delpos,Ohio.
Private services were held at the late residence, with Rev, Richard Slater of the Parkman Congregational Church officiating. Burial in Chardon Cemetery.
