He enlisted July 20,1862 at Camp Nelson in Co. D, 7th Ky Infantry after serving his term of enlistment, he re-enlisted in Feb 1864 as a veteran volunteer.
Daugherty died of General Senility on March 17,1915, he is buried in Berea cemetery, Sec VII, lot 5.
He served as the G.A.R., Berea, Capt James West Post Commander in 1893.
