HAGEMANN RITES HELD AT AMHERST
Phillips County Farmer Dies At Home After Long Illness

Funeral services were held at Amherst yesterday afternoon for Henry R. Hagemann, farmer of the Amherst community who died at his home Sunday afternoon following a lingering illness.

Prayer was read at the Hagemann home at 1:30 o'clock after which the service was conducted at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Amherst with the pastor, Rev. W. W. Wilk, officiating. Burial was made in the Holyoke Cemetery.

The late Mr. Hagemann sustained injuries in an automobile accident in July. Two weeks following that accident, he suffered a stroke of apoplexy. He was confined to his home a greater part of the time and was unable to attend his regular farming duties. He suffered a second stroke Tuesday, January 17, and, from that time until his death at 2:25 oclock Sunday afternoon, he remained in a semi-conscious state. At the time of his death, he was 55 years, six months and three days old.

Henry Robert Hagemann, son of Henry and Anna Huckfeldt Hagemann, was born July 18, 1883 near Holstein, Nebraska. He was baptized September 2, 1883 at the Lutheran church in Holstein, Nebraska. His boyhood days were spent in the vicinity of Holstein and Kenesaw, Nebraska. He was confirmed in the Zion Lutheran church at Kenesaw, Nebraska on April 3, 1898.

The marriage of Henry R. Hagemann and Miss Lena Lurking, both of Holstein, Nebraska, was solemnized at Hastings, Nebraska February 25, 1906. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Hagemann located on a farm in Adams County, Nebraska where they lived until the spring of 1914 when they moved to Colorado and established their home on a farm in the Amherst community. In 1919 the family returned to Nebraska and located on a farm near Kenesaw. In the spring of 1930 the family returned to Phillips County. Mr. Hagemann having purchased a farm near Amherst where the family now resides.

Deceased was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Amherst.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lena Hagemann; four sons, Rev. Harold Hagemann of Burns, Wyoming, and Ronald, Donald and Lowell at home; two daughters, Lois and Joann at home; four brothers, Charles of Pocatello, Idaho, Gus of Santa Monica, California, Fred of Hastings, Nebraska and George of Julesburg; two sisters, Mrs. John Fischer (Dora) of Juniata, Nebraska and Mrs. Leona Moore of Santa Monica, California; and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.

Serving at the pallbearers were William Sattler, Mike Hassler, Fred Crawford, Otto Kullman, Simon Krueger and Louis Einspahr.

The out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer, Mrs. Ernest Huckfeldt, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hagemann, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Fischer, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fischer and Mrs. John Hagemann and children, Walter and Minnie, all of Kenesaw, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Huckfeldt, Mrs. Ed Powers and son, Lorenzo, Mrs. and Mrs. Martin Luhring and son Burdette, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Huckfeldt and daughter and Mrs. Elmer Huckfeldt of Hay Springs, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ueris, Lawrence Bolkhe and Miss Velma Greene of Stratton, Nebraska; Henry Bolkhe of Hastings, Nebraska; Leo Hagemann of Gilcrest; Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Beal of Baynard, Nebraska; Mrs. Edward Rutt and daughter of Henderson; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hagemann and Mrs. Leland Bullock of Pocatello, Idaho; and Mrs. Roy Lake and Ray Hagemann of Evanston, Wyoming.
