Mrs. Carrie M. York Dies
Representative of the Well Known Moore Family, Now Practically Extinct in Ithaca –
Buried Here
Mrs. Carrie Moore York, daughter of the late Henry H. Moore of this city, died at the home of her son, A.M. York, of Syracuse, yesterday at about 10 a.m. She was a member of the old Moore family, which was prominent in this city years ago, but which is now practically extinct.
Born in Ithaca, she received a part of her education here and later moved to Syracuse.
She was nearly 70 years old, and is survived by a brother, F.H. Moore, of Boston, Mass., and the son already mentioned. Death was caused by a complication of diseases. She had been in poor health for some time.
The funeral will be held from the York residence in Syracuse at 3 p.m. Friday. The remains will be brought to Ithaca Saturday morning.
A brief service will be held in the Aurora street M.E. church at 2 o'clock. Burial will be made in the City cemetery.
