Jane Margaret Devlin was the daughter of Col. James J. Devlin and the former Miss Margaret Wardlaw of Abbeville, South Carolina. Col. Devlin was a veteran of the War of 1812 and the The Seminole War along the Georgia-Florida border.

In 1828, Jane Devlin married Archibald Tittle, son of John A. Tittle and the former Miss Rosa McFarland of Abbeville, South Carolina.

Jane Tittle departed this life at the young age of 39 years. She is buried near her parents in Cedar Springs A.R.P. Churchyard cemetery.
