Sam Faulkner, 71, a retired farmer and resident of Route 2, Elkins died last night at the Prairie Grove hospital. He had lived in the Thorney Community for the past 22 years and moved there from Fayetteville.

Born Jan. 22, 1893 at Asher, the son of Samuel and Catharine Bailey Faulkner, he was a member of the Church of Christ and was united in marriage to Miss Frances Dill on Sept. 10, 1916 at Thorney.

In addition to the widow, of the home, he is survived by five sons, Raymond and Sam, Jr., both of Fullerton, Calif., Eugene, of Sapulpa, Okla, Amos of Springfield, Mo., and Billy Frank of the home; one daughter, Mrs. J. C. Jestice, Monett, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Fred of Lawton, Okla., and Nolen of Cabot and three sisters, Mrs. Gussie Hill, Miss Lillie Hill and Mrs. Katie O'Neal, all of Elkins.

Funeral services will be held Friday at the Mount Olive Church. Burial will be in the Mount Olive Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
