He was born September 25, 1928, in San Angelo,Texas to William Bill and Lily Marnervy (Wilkerson)Blakeney.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Piper; sons, Larry Lee Piper and wife, Margie, Robert Wesley Piper and fiancé,Treva; daughter, Mary Jane Piper; grandchildren, Justin William Piper and wife, Sharron, Wesley Upton and wife, Kimberly, Tonya Cooper and husband, Justin; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Paul Blakeney; sisters, Anita Howard, Gertrude Wooldridge, and Goldie Holder; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lily Blakeney; brothers, Ben Blakeney, Jim Blakeney; sisters, Lora Blakeney, Ludy Dale Blakeney, Goldie Grace Blakeney, Mona L. Cox, Anna Mae Piper.
Graveside Services were held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011, at the Barksdale Cemetery, with Brother Curtis Wilson officiating.
