L.A. "Bud" Harvey, 74, of Bay City, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Sugar Land, TX. He was born February 1, 1935 in Shamrock, TX to the late Lena Isabella Ackley Harvey & Errett Strasmore Harvey.

He has been a resident of Bay City since 1991, and was a Missions and Communications Chairman for the Matagorda Methodist Church. He was a member of Toastmasters International, a volunteer for the Matagorda County Birding and Nature Center and the Literacy Volunteers of America. He loved and shared computer games and emails.

He is survived by his wife: Rev. Pauline Harvey of Bay City; daughters: Suzy Shay of Columbia, SC and Kathy Bradford and husband Gregg of Ferndale, WA; niece: Veronica George & husband Pat of Houston; nephew: Bill Blair and wife Andrea of West Palm Beach, FL; and by his grandchildren: Terrell Hughes, Kasey Loving and Kody Loving.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 20 2009, at the First United Methodist Church of Bay City with Rev. Chris Harrison officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 PM Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Brookside Cemetery in Houston, TX.
