--He was the next to youngest child of Parks Josephus Blackwelder and his 1st wife Addie C. Morris.
--Occupation: He worked on his father's farm in his early years, through at least 1920. In 1930 Thomas was a truck driver for a laundry. He later became an oil dealer, which was his career until retirement.
--He married Nora Tarlton in Feb. 1918; they had at least 7 children: Rena Luzine, Neta, James Ralph, Katherine, Ray, Adelaide, and Alice Blackwelder.
--Cause of death: heart attack.
--He was a resident of Concord, although he died in Whiteville.
