Mr. William Clyde Hiatt Age 81 of 307 Chatham Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Tuesday January 3, 2012 at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.

Mr. Hiatt was born January 8, 1930 in Surry County to the late Lunie Alma and Sarah Terrell Hiatt, he was a Veteran of the U.S. Army was the former owner and operator of the Wagon Wheel Restaurant and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Surviving are his wife Jerry Lynn Boyd Hiatt of the home, three daughters and sons-in-law Vickie and Bill Hammond, Tammy and David Jenkins and Wendy and Bill Johnson all of Mt. Airy, Ten grandchildren, Four great grandchildren, four sisters Margaret Frazier, Rhumell Humphries, Roena Johnson and Roberta Whitaker, three brothers Lonnell Hiatt of Mt. Airy, James F. Hiatt of Atlanta and Calvin Hiatt of Alberta, Canada and a special nephew and his wife David and Robin Culler of Mt. Airy.

In addition to his parents Mr. Hiatt was preceded in death by a son Ricky William Hiatt and by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday January 5, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with services conducted by Elder Robert H. Bradley, Elder A. Moses Massey and Elder David Culler with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436.

The family will receive friends Wednesday night 6 to 8 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC.
