Mrs. Ruth Akins, 88, of East Point, died Thursday, January 3, 2008. She was a homemaker and a member of East Point Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Akins of East Point; two sons, Ken and wife Lynn Akins of Lilburn, Thomas and wife Linda Akins of Tyrone; grandchildren, Jeffrey Akins, Matthew Akins, Steven Akins, Aaron Akins, Adam Akins; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Akins, Alyssa Akins; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in East Point Christian Church. Dr. Hoyt Johnson officiated. Interment services were held in Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
