John L. Bitner, 84, former resident of Plainfield, died yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Luther Bushman, 202 Bosler Avenue, Lemoyne.
He was the son of the late Jacob and Nancy Heagy Bitner and was a member of the Plainfield Church of God.
In addition to Mrs. Bushman he is survived by these children, Mrs. O. C. Stum, Newville; Purl I. Bitner, Carlisle; Floyd Bitner, Mt. Rock; Mrs. William B. Heiges, Harrisburg, 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the J. R. Shulenberger Funeral Home, 169 West High Street. Burial will be in Plainfield Church of God Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday night at the funeral home.

Trust Fund
A trust fund for life was provided in the will of J.L. Bitner, Plainfield, for the widow, Mrs. Clara Bitner. The estate was estimated at $5000.
The will directs that at the expiration of the trust the property be divided equally among five children, Mrs. Blanch Stum, Mrs. Carrie Heiges, Mrs. Lela Bushman, P.I. Bitner and Floyd R. Bitner. The two sons were named executors.
