Born July 23, 1906, in Galesburg to John and Grace Osgood Camren, she married Thurston Vedell on Feb. 26, 1927, in Princeton. He died in 1972.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Marjorie Vedell and Nancy Vedell, one brother and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Richard of Knoxville; one daughter, Marilee (and Richard) Maulding of Herrin; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Don Camren of Phoenix, Ariz. She also raised 22 foster children.
She and her husband owned and operated Vedell Dairy Farm in Knoxville for many years. She also was a psychiatric aide at Galesburg State Research Hospital for several years, retiring in 1969. She attended Brown's Business College.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
