J. F. Fleming, one of the oldest citizens of Attalla, died at his home in that town at 2 O'clock Sunday afternoon and was buried at the city cemetery in that place Monday afternoon. Mr. Fleming was eighty-three years old and has always been a good, honest and highly respected citizen. For the past few years he has been unable to work on account of his age and has passed his time as best he could from day to day. (Note: below is information, which I received in an edit suggestion e-mail from Harold R. Fleming ([email protected]) , on Jan. 02, 1914. He is a GGG-Grandson of William Anderson Fleming.)

I was unable to verify the accuracy of his information, so I can not state that these are/or are not the parents of James Franklin "Frank" Fleming.

I do, however, feel that the information maybe helpful to those researching the Fleming Family.

His edit suggestion was: The parents of James Franklin "Frank" Fleming are Bailey Fleming and Mary Douglass (He may have meant Douglas) Houston, and his siblings were William Anderson Fleming (7Sept1818-23Sept1885), Martha Jane Fleming Carwile (born 1825), Mary E. Fleming (Born 1826), Ambrose Milton Fleming (1830-1895), Hugh David Fleming (1832-1921), Nancy L. Fleming (Born 1831).

I looked on Ancestry.com and found that only a few people have listed parents for James Franklin "Frank" Fleming, and among those few, there was conflicting information for the parents.

Some have his Father as James Bailey Fleming (Born abt. 1793 VA - died 04 Jan 1834 Abbeville, Abbeville, SC).....the others have his Father as Bailey Fleming (born 1795 VA - died 1886 Abbeville, Abbeville, SC).
