Elsie Bell Tarpley, 87, of Coldstream Lane died at 6:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Tarpley retired from Roviar Shirt Factory where she was a seamstress.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed & Jewell Chapel on 25th Street, with the Rev. Barbara Grace officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Westport Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Born in Wilson County, Tenn., Oct. 20, 1916, Mrs. Tarpley was the daughter of Zear and Mary Jane Hendrix Bain.
She is survived by daughters, Ann Tarpley and Wanda Huff, both of Columbus, Marie Cooper Cull of San Antonio, Texas, and Bettye O'Haver Sears of Lakeland, Fla.; a son, James Tarpley of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Goldie B. Lorance of Watertown, Tenn.; brothers, Paul Bain of Louisville, Ky., and Edward "Junior" Bain of Watertown; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Matilda and Ethel Hudson and Alma Hughes; and brothers, James and Tommie Bain.

Burial was at Westport Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wendell, Keith and Greg Huff, Jack McIntyre, Darvin Cull and Matt Buzzard.
