Anna Mae Leatherman, 81, of Pleasant Walk Road, Wolfsville, Md., went to be with her Lord Monday, Jan. 1, 2012, from her home. Born Sept. 1, 1930, near Pleasant Valley, Md., she was the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Vera R. (Pryor) Willard. She attended Foxville-area schools. She was a devoted homemaker and also was a bus driver for Heritage Academy for many years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Temple of Hagerstown, Md. She was a godly wife and mother to her family. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William E. Leatherman, whom she married June 15, 1951; daughter, Ellen Allen and husband, Royce, of Mercersburg, Pa.; sons, David Leatherman and wife, Eva, of Hanover, Pa., Nathan Leatherman and wife, Karen, of Boonsboro, Md., and Evan Leatherman and Kevin Leatherman, both of Myersville, Md.; five sisters; three brothers; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son,Joseph Leatherman; and one brother.
Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at 1 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, Md., with Pastor Larry Aikens officiating. Burial will be in Grossnickle Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Myersville. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to WHGT Christian Radio in care of Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
