Frank Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Roberts, was born February 4, 1869 at Kewanee, Ill., and died June 2, 1938 at Brooklyn, Ia, at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 28 days.
On July 31, 1890 he was married to Nettie Wheeler who survives him. At the death of Mrs. Roberts sister, Mrs. Theodore Thorp, they took into their home, Mrs. Thorp's daughter, Maud, and raised this niece as they would have done their own child. This niece is now married and living in California.
Frank Roberts was active in the affairs of the community. His many business interests made him one of the best known business men of the community. In recent years his business connection has been with the Farm Bureau Oil Co.
He took part in the work of 4 fraternal organizations: the Knights of Pythias, the Independent Order of Oddfellows, Rebeccas and Pythian Sisters.
He was a member of the Methodist church in Brooklyn. In addition to the surviving wife and niece are 3 sisters: Mrs. W. A. Chalfont of Fort Collins, Colo., Mrs. Lydia Magginnitie and Mrs. George Dietz, both of Belle Plaine and a brother, Russell of Rockford, Ia.
