Mrs. Dorothy Aaron Welch, 94, of Hamburg died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. Mrs. Welch was a native of Neelyville, Missouri and a resident of Hamburg for the past 88 years. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother and she loved working in her flowers.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Levi A. Welch Sr. in 1982; a son, Levi A. Welch Jr. in 1971; her parents, Nell & Josie Smith Aaron; two brothers, Oscar & Cecil Aaron and a sister, Annie Pogue.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet McKiever; a son, Jimmy Welch and wife, Gale, all of Hamburg; three grandchildren, Jason Welch and wife, Roxanne, of Hamburg; Kim Rice and husband, Tracy, of Chapin, South Carolina and Karen Leggett and husband, Thomas of Madison, Mississippi; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2009 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 10411 W.
