Opal Ressegger

Opal Ressegger, 95, of Ravenswood, died Oct. 23, 2002, at Eldercare of Ripley.

She was born Feb. 9, 1907, in Tyler County, a daughter of the late Thomas Way and Maude Mae Mitchell Turner.

She was a homemaker, a pottery worker, and dental assistant. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ravenswood, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Webster Springs Women's Club, and was a councilwoman in Webster Springs, the first woman in that capacity.

She is survived by one son, Lewis W. Ressegger of Ravenswood; one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy R. and Eugene R. Green of Warren, Ohio; five grandchildren, Pam Green, Warren, Lisa Green Carson, Akron, Ohio, Mike Ressegger of Wentzville, Mo., David Ressegger, Debbie Ressegger Sanders and C.W. Ressegger, all of Bluffton, Minn.; and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Wallace of Oregon; and three brothers, Bobby Turner, Cuba, Ill., Tommy Turner, Eastern West Virginia, and Gale Turner, Pekin, Ill..

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Omar C. Ressegger; several brothers and sisters; and one son, Omar C. Ressegger.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at First United Methodist Church, Ravenswood, the Rev. Richard D. Cottrill officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery.
