Charles E. Arganbright, died Monday, May 3, 2004 at home at age 94. Born April 24, 1910 in Bluffton, Oh. to the late Minnie Maude Thomas and Charles Allison Arganbright, he graduated from Lima Central High School, Class of 1928 and entered Miami University that September. While at Miami he was initiated into Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Charles entered The Ohio State University in 1931 and studied law for 2 1/2 years. He received his Degree in Mathematics in 1935. After graduating, he worked for GMAC in Pittsburgh until 1939 and worked for Colonial Finance until 1942. Charles enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and was commissioned as a special agent in the Counter-Intelligence Corps until his discharge in 1945. After WW II, Charles began a distinguished career with City National Bank (now Bank One) until his retirement as a vice-president on May 1, 1975. He retired to Daytona Beach, Fla. and returned to Upper Arlington in December 2000, where he resided with his daughter and son-in-law. Charles was married for 61 years to Lila Poling Arganbright until her death November 25, 2003. He is also preceded in death by his brother Marion T. Arganbright. Charles was a member of North Broadway United Methodist Church before moving to Fla., was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Daytona Beach and most recently, an adopted member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church (UALC), in Columbus. He received an honorary commission to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, in 1975, was President of Big Brothers in 1966, was a long time member of Linden Northeast Kiwanis, served on the Advisory Commission for Campus Grievances at Ohio State and was President of the OSU Student Loan Foundation. A Memorial Service was held 7 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2004 at UALC-The Church on Lytham Road, 2300 Lytham Road, Upper Arlington, where family received friends one hour before the service. Pastor Henry Hoversten officiating. Interment Mt. Zion E.U.B. Cemetery, Junction City, Oh.
