Mary Ruth Bibee Carroll, age 87 of Springfield, died Friday April 29, 2011 at her home. Born October 9, 1923 in Robertson Co., TN to the late Herbert L. and Lorene Pendelton "Pretty Mama" Bibee, she was of the Baptist faith and retired as a bus driver from the Robertson County Board of Education.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Houston Douglas Carroll, sons, PFC Dwight Wayne Carroll, Mac Carroll, Danny Carroll, Michael Briggs and Tony Carroll, daughters, Linda Jean Smith and Mary Edith Dickerson and sisters, Lizzie Lee Goodwin, Mabel Martin and Mae Belle MacLeod.
Mrs. Carroll is survived by her son, David Carroll of Springfield, daughter, Patricia (Bobby) Wooten of Greenbrier, a host of grandchildren including Jana Beal, a host of great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday, May 2, 2011 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny McCartney, Debbie Bertram and Rodger Thaxton officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens with Dwight Guinn, Joe MacLeod, Matt Carroll, Chad Carroll, Kenneth Carroll and Leroy Bibee serving as pallbearers. Steve Brown and Josh Beal will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 1 pm to 8 pm and again on Monday from 9 am until the hour of service at 12 noon.
