Funeral services for Mrs. Euna Daisy Stephens, 97, of Monterey, formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Nolan Cantrell officiating.

Burial was in Copeland Cemetery at West Fork.

Mrs. Stephens died Sunday, Nov. 19 at Standing Stone Health Care. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Born March 22, 1909, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Alice (Garrett) Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Stephens; a son, Bobby Stephens; 3 brothers, Van Hill, Fate Hill, and Arnold Hill; 5 sisters, Cora Flowers, Fannie Flora Huckeby, Audie Cravens, Eshma Cravens, and Bonza Flowers; a grandson, Robbie Stephens; and a great-grandson, Anthony Winningham.

Survivors include a daughter, Dimple Abston of Monterey; 6 granddaughters, Janice Hargis and Jan Smith, both of Baxter, Donna Brown of Mayland, Debbie Stults of Crawford, Dana McDonald of Livingston, and Delma Stamps of Monterey; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Joshua Smith, Matt Howard, Ben Stults, Ryan McDonald, Keith Boles, and Randy Boles. Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Stamps, Ethan Stamps, and Jaylon McDonald.
