GENE MARGARET BICKEL HAYDEN, 90, of Huntington, WV, died peacefully at home on Dec. 20, 2011, after a long illness. She was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Replete, WV and grew up in Webster Springs, WV, one of seven children of the late Thomas B. and Abbigail Skidmore Bickel.
She and her late husband, Jack Proffitt Hayden, were the owners of the former Huntington Barber and Beauty Supply Company located in Huntington.
Survivors include
her son, John P. Hayden of Pittsburgh, PA;
five daughters, Susan Hayden of Charleston, WV, Mary McOwen (Mark McOwen), Jackie Hayden (David Lycan) and Jill Smith (Roger Smith), all of Huntington, WV and Sally Lefevre (Chris Lefevre) of Milton, WV;
two sisters, Peggy Miller (Oliver Miller) of Cleveland, OH and Mary Bell Gregory of New Florence, PA;
17 grandchildren;
3 great-grandchildren.
