Our beautiful, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Wanda Thornton Erspamer, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, December 30, 2011.

Wanda was born June 15, 1925 in Holden, UT to Squire William and Minnie Bottomfield Thornton, the youngest of eleven children.

Wanda married Clarence "Clary" Erspamer in the Salt Lake Temple on December 20, 1945. Wanda had a heart bigger than the moon. Our dearest Wanda put everyone before herself. She was truly devoted to her family. The biggest smile ever!

Survived by her husband, Clary; daughter, Julie (Garth) Samuels; son, Ernie; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Wayne Thornton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Survivors also include Jane (Bruce) Erspamer and Margaret (Paul) Erspamer, Karen Jollie, Shirley Mustard, and Herad Sanders. Preceded in death by two loving sons, Bruce and Paul.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), where a viewing will be held from 12:30-1:45 p.m.
Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
