Aurora Romero, age 84, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2003 at her home in Socorro, NM.
Aurora was born on September 9, 1919 to Salomon and María (Gonzáles) Montaño in Florida, NM.
Aurora was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Joe Montaño, Lolo Montaño and Tony Montaño.
Aurora is survived by her husband, Celedon Romero, sons, Moises García and his wife, Roberta of Spring, TX, Johnny García and his wife, Linda of Walnut, CA and Ernie García and his wife, Linda of Sacramento, CA, daughters, Margie Kruger and her husband, Richard of Prescott, AZ and Judy Santillanes of Socorro, sisters, Lena Anaya and her husband, Paul of Socorro and Julia Sánchez of Albuquerque, brother, Salomon Montaño Jr. of Socorro, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Rosary was recited on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church with Father John C. Daniel as Celebrant. Interment will be in the San Miguel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Santillanes, Steven Santillanes, Steven Santillanes Jr., Salomon Montaño Jr., Henry Chávez and Paul Anaya.
