She was a certified Florida pioneer descendent of a pioneer family who settled in Florida in the 1830s. She was a member of the United Steel Workers and retired from the American Can Co.
The kitchen was her sanctuary, where she prepared family holiday dinners for many years. Although diminutive in stature our " Big Mwna" will be remembered for her boundless energy and will be forever missed by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Altman; mother, Annie Altman; sisters, Idell Raymond, Lois Alphin, Merle Simpson; and brother, Frank Altman, Jr.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home.
