Liva married George Quigley on 13 July 1879, at Duke Center, Pennsylvania, and they had one child, Edna, who died 29 September 1889, aged four years. Her other daughter from her first marriage to J. M. Giles, Hettie Edith Giles, was a teacher in the public schools of Bowling Green. Both of Liva's parents, Eric and Adaline Aldrich were from New York and she had sisters: Annie and Viola. Viola died before 1870.
