Ada was born May 12, 1929 in Hartford City, the daughter of Henry and Edna (Dixon) Markin. A 1947 graduate of Hartford City High School, she married David Richard "Dick" Schwarzkopf on September 28, 1950 in Hartford City. She had resided in Lafayette since 1954.
A homemaker, Ada and Dick enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are her husband, David "Dick"; three daughters, Barbara (Steve) Franklin, Lafayette, Beth Schwarzkopf, West Lafayette, and Belinda Schwarzkopf, Oxford, IN; two sisters, Betty (Clarence) Atkinson, KY, and Ellen Furnish, Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Kari Lee, Justin Fisher, William and Wyatt Mantle; and a great-grandchild, Sierra Lee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, with Pastor Mark Schwarzkopf officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie. Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
