John Armstrong was the last child born to Cyrus and Julia Armstrong in Hamburg Iowa. John was a natural with horses and honed his trade as a Jockey and Racehorse trainer all over the country finally ending up with King Ranch of Texas. He remained there up until a few days before his death in 1947. Lavonia Armstrong, his niece, along with her husband Weldon Lindville drove to Texas and returned John to Oklahoma where he died at their home.
