OXFORD William Rowland Beaver, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, working in road construction. He was a private in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, the VFW and the VFW Lodge No. 4100 in Water Valley.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Forrest Memorial Cemetery in Batesville with the Rev. Lonnie Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Cemetery in Batesville. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie Beaver of Oxford; two daughters, Dorothy Ann Tidwell of Oxford and Geraldine Thacker of Gulfport; one son, Bobby Lynn Beaver of Birmingham, Ala.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, Old Taylor Road, Oxford.
