Addie Myris Frazier Allmon , 96, died December 14, 2016 at Lauderdale Community Living Center after a short stay.

She was born in the Dry Hill-Edith Community, Lauderdale County on July 30, 1920.

She was just 3 and 1/2 years from 100 which was a goal she tried to achieve her in this earthly life.

Addie, also known as "Grannie", lived in and around Ripley, Tennessee all her life.

She spent a few years in Arkansas as a child/teenager working the farm with hger family. She grew up picking cotton and helping her mom take care of the household. Addie was the oldest of 6 kids.

On June 18, 1938 she married the love of her life Porter Allmon. She had her first son, Larry, on March 30, 1939 and a daughter Patricia November 11, 1947.

Addie worked several jobs before she opened up a beauty shop in her home at Central. She ran a beauty school in Ripley in the late 50's/early 60's. In the late 1960's she opened up a beauty shop called Cleopatra's in Memphis.

In the 1970's she retired from the beauty business. She moved back to Ripley, Tennessee in 1980 along with her son and his family. During the late 80's and early 90's she was busy doing genealogy and chasing the history of her Frazier lineage. Addie loved to crochet, cook, and make her family laugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband Porter Allmon and parents George Winchester Frazier Sr. and Lura Ann Midyett. She was also preceded in death by brothers George Winchester Frazier, Malvin Thomas Frazier, Raymond Neal Frazier, and Donald Frazier and daughter in law Ruth Allmon.

She leaves one sister Margie Allmon of Ripley, her son Larry Allmon and wife Mary Ann of Ripley, one granddaughter Lori Snoddy and husband Chris Snoddy of Brentwood, and 4 great grandkids Caleb Snoddy, Morgen Snoddy, Landon Baker, and Chloe Baker (parents Bill and Gwen Baker of Dyersburg who also knew her as "Grannie").

Visitation is Friday December 16th at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley from 5 until 8 PM. Services are Saturday, December 17th at 2 PM in Garner Funeral Home. Burial will be at Grace Cemetery in Ripley, Tennessee.
