Harry J. Albert, 87, of Butler, died at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 10, 1909, in Butler, he was the son of John C. and Estella (Fair) Albert.
He married Elizabeth (Stepp) Albert on Dec. 5, 1941.
He was a retired heat treater in the tool and die department at Pullman Standard, Butler. He attended St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church. He was a well known ham radio operator since 1927, license W3KFH; and a member of Morse Telegraph Club & Butler County Amateur Radio Association W3UDX.
Surviving are his wife; six sisters, Doris Ashbaugh, Mrs. Paul (Grace) Simotoski, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Bonyak, Mrs. George (Pearl) Dollar and Helen Albert, all of Butler, and Mrs. Rudy (Ruth) Schuler of Tarentum; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.
Friends of Harry J. Albert, who died Dec. 14, 1996, will be received today and Tuesday. The funeral will be Wednesday with burial in Butler County Memorial Park.
