She was an active member of the Americus United Methodist Church. She served her community on many committees including: Americus Senior Center (her husband and her were two of the Americus citizens who assisted in founding the Center); Kansas Area on Aging Agency; Americus Days Committee; Americus Township Library; Americus Housing Authority; and the Silver Haired Legislature for two terms (she worked for seniors' benefits and was a huge proponent of grand parents rights). Faye was Lyon County's Volunteer of the Year two times. President George W. Bush and President Obama recognized her for her hours of volunteer service.
Survivors include her daughters, Beth Voorhees (Jerry) and Carolyn Duvall (Johnnie) of Americus, Kansas, Kathe Decker (Clint) of Clay Center, Kansas, grandchildren, Jerry Voorhees, II (fiancé' Michelle Ellis) of Lebo, Kansas; Dana Hodges (Jeff) of Emporia, Kansas; Staci Sutton of Clay Center, Kansas; Corey Duvall of Americus, Kansas; Great-Grandchildren, Breanna Voorhees, Ashlyn Voorhees, Eli Ellis, Aiden Eckstrom, Boston Eckstrom, Jessica Kerr, Konnor Sutton, and Lynzee Sutton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Carole Mustoe, great-granddaughter, Courtney Jean Heathman; Sisters Allyene Crawford, Glenna Allen and Neva Steward; Sister in law, Lula McCay; Son-in-laws, Tim Heathman, Steve Lloyd and Gayle Mustoe,
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Americus United Methodist Church with Pastor Gina Giles officiating.
Memorial Contributions to the Faye Kincaid Memorial may be sent in care of the funeral home. The contributions will be used to purchase a table in chairs for the Americus Township Library.
