Death came Tuesday morning to Mrs. Rhoda Ann Sullivan, 89. She had been in ill health for some time, having been confined to her home since falling and breaking a hip a number of years ago.
Final rites were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. at the Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. L.W. Woodward. A large crowd assembled to pay a last tribute of respect.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in Wayne County on February 29, 1864. Her husband William Sullivan, died in 1922. She professed faith in Christ at the age of 15 and joined the Rowena Methodist Church, and lived a devout and consecrated life from then until the end.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. Cora Flatt and H.A. Sullivan, a number of grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
H.E. Pruitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
