Robert Kimbrel

Robert Kimbrel was born in Orange Co., Indiana, October 16, 1856, and departed this life at the Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa, Tuesday, August 3, 1920, at the age of 63 years, 9 months, 17 days.

He moved west, coming to Iowa in the fall of 1880, and later spent a few years in the far west. When he returned, he settled on a farm in Marion County.

He was united in marriage to Minnie Jane Bingham, January 2, 1898, who preceded him in death on March 25, 1916. To this union were born two children, Vier, who departed this life December 8, 1918, and James, who still survives him.

He leaves one son, one brother, Levi Kimbrel, one half brother, James M. May and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his departure.

The funeral was held at Gosport M. P. Church, Friday, August 6, 1920, conducted by Rev. L. H. Smith of Columbia. Interment was made in the Gosport Cemetery, Melcher Union.
