Funeral Services will be Held Sat. for Pioneer

Funeral services will be held here Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Christina Anderson, 82, a resident of the Hartington community since 1880, who died Monday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glen Austin. Death was caused by flu and complications of old age.

Services will be held at the Alfred Anderson residence at 1:30 pm, and at the Maskell Lutheran Church at 2:30 pm. Rev. O I Levernsen will officiate and burial will be in the Lime Creek Cemetery under the direction of Junes Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ralph Morten Sr., George Morton, Will Puntney, L G Riibe, Lester Samuelson, and Lawrence Nelson.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by two sons, Alfred of Hartington, and Clarence of Newcastle, and three daughters, Mrs. Austin and Mrs. Alfred Nelson of Hartington, and Mrs. Everett Lucart of Glendale, Cailf.

Born in Sweden June 13, 1859, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Segol Gilbertson, she came to the United States in 1869 when her parents located in Omaha. From 1871 to 1880 she lived in the Lime Grove community and at Spirit Mound, SD.

Miss Gilbertson was married to Andrew Anderson at Yankton in 1880. The couple settled on a farm east of Hartington, where Mr. Anderson died in 1904. Mrs. Anderson lived on the farm until 1921 when she moved to Maskell. The past four years she had made her home with Glen Austins and Alfred Andersons.

Christina Segolsdougther born Jun.13 1859 in Skillingmark Sweden and died 1944 in Dixon county Nebraska. She married Andrew Anderson born 1849. and died Mars 7 1904 in Dixon County Nebraska.
Christina was the first Gold Star mother in Cedar county.

NOTE: Christine adopted her daughter Anna's daughters, Laura and Ardyce after their mother Anna Feelhaver died: These children are listed above as # 8 and # 9.
