Alvah Hancock was born 19 April 1796 in Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts, the son of Thomas & Amy Ward Hancock. He married Juletty Eames and among their children were: Abigail, Joseph Warren, Aurilla & Marhta Angeline Hancock. Alvah died 17 July 1847 in Mt. Pisgah, Iowa while journeying to Utah with the Mormon pioneers.
