He attended county schools and graduated from Fruitland Institute and Draughn's Business College.


From 1917 to 1937 he spent as secretary and treasurer of Riverdale Mills in Enoree, SC. In 1937 he moved back to East Flat Rock and was associated for five years with the Stepp and Walker Store.


For several years he operated the Gospel Book Store in Spartanburg, SC. He then was employed by Britain Hosiery Mills until retirement in 1965.


He served as Henderson Commissioner for eight years.


He was one of Henderson County's Baptist laymen having served his church East Flat Rock Baptist as deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, teacher and choir member and had served for 18 years as treasurer of the Carolina Baptist Association.


He is survived by his wife Minnie; three sons Edgar of East Flat Rock; Clarence of Columbia, MD; Milas K Sinclair Jr of Hendersonville, NC; two daughters Miss Martha Frances Sinclair of the home and Mrs Betty Sue Franks of Cincinnati, OH; two foster daughters Mrs Jean Branch of Biloxi, Miss; Mrs Mary Edith Alexander of Raleigh, NC; four brothers Charles of Akron, OH; Luke of Fruitland, Brookshire of Hendersonville; John Sinclair of East Flat Rock; one sister Mrs Ellen Merrell of Hendersonville, NC;14 grandchildren.
