JAMES F. BASS
Largely attended funeral services were held this afternoon at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church for James F. Bass, 82, 23ll known retired Benton Harbor barber, who died in his sleep Saturday morning at the home of a son, Floyd, 839 Pavone Street.
The Rev. Wendell Pasco, rector, officiated at the services, which were marked by a large floral tribute. Bert Holmes was the vocal soloist and Mrs. Myrtle Morgan played the organ.
Mr. Bass was a barber for more than 50 years, 44 of which were in Benton Harbor. He came to this city in September of 1900.
Burial was in the family lot at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Casket bearers included Dr. William Burton, William O. Madison, Clarence S. Brown, William Wims, Clark Bradley and Gurney Frazier.
