Robert Lee Haney Sr., 84, of the Memorial Park community and formerly of Greene County, passed away Friday at Hermitage Health Center, Elizabethton.

A native of Washington County, he was the son of the late Albert and Ester Davis Haney.

Mr. Haney was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Grace Maupin Haney; his son, Robert Haney Jr.; and a sister, Elizabeth Jordan.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law: Linda and Rex Williams and Juanita Haney, all of Johnson City; five grandchildren: Nikki McAllister, Summer Fields, Misty O'Dell, Lindsey Mussard and Robert Cody Haney; and four great-grandchildren: Zoey Gilliam, Olivia Fields, Carrie McAllister and James "Max" Fields. Several special friends, nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with the Rev. Yates officiating.

The family will greet friends Monday in the funeral home chapel from 5-7 p.m.

A military committal and interment service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Washington County Memory Gardens.

Family and friends will meet at 10:30 at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Fields, Derek Mussard, Jason McAllister, Wayne Jordan, Gene Jordan and Rex Williams.

Robert Cody Haney will be an honorary pallbearer.

The family would like to say "Thank You" to the ICU nursing staff and sitters at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the staff at Hermitage Health Center and to Caris Hospice for the love and support given to Mr. Haney and the family
