MCCORDSVILLE, IN--Mary Margaret Kinnan, 93, went to her reward on December 26, 2011 after a short illness.
She was supported by a daughter, her son, granddaughter and close friend at the time of her passing.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Bernard C. Kinnan. She had lived in the Indianpolis area since 2005, moving from Farmland, IN.
She is survived by three children, Denise (Stephen) Rendleman, Don (Fran) Kinnan, and Dina (companion-Paul Aurandt) Kinnan; her granddaughter, Amy (Jeff) Anderson; and three great-grandchildren.
Mary Margaret was born in Anderson, IN, and moved with her family to western Alberta at the age of one year. She lived and thrived on the Canadian plains, and returned to Indiana in time to graduate high school in Modoc, IN. She then attended the School of Nursing at Indianapolis Methodist Hospital, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1940. She practiced her profession at Cook County Hospital in Chicago during the war years, and then returned to her Randolph County roots, where she met her future husband. She was on the nursing staff of Randolph County Hospital for many years; also serving as the school nurse at Randolph Southern School Corporation until she moved with Bernard to Indianapolis for business reasons. In Indianapolis, she continued her professional duties at the Indiana School for the Blind, the Indiana Women's Prison and various care facilities.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Little Creek Cemetery, south of Modoc, IN on St. Rd. 1, with the Rev. Jan Bunch officiating.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Farmland United Methodist Church, 400 N. Morris St., Farmland, IN 47340. Thomas Memorial Chapel of Lynn had been entrusted with arrangements.
