Colonel Anthony Wayne Johnson born 10 July 1797 New Hampshire, the youngest of ten children of Oliver and Hannah George Johnson who moved to Tennessee about 1801; he was a merchant, Democrat, Freemason, Methodist; President of banks, State Senator, President of Nashville Insurance Company. He died 15 May 1888 at Edgewood on Gallatin Pike (now on the National Register of Historical Places). Col. Johnson married as his second wife, Mary Eliza Smith, daughter of Capt. George Sterling and Eliza Boyce Smith. Mary Eliza was born 23 Sept 1814 in Goochland, VA; died 1899 Nashville, TN and is most likely buried Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
