Jacob “Jake” Brouwer Jr., former husband of Peggy Brouwer of Bethany, died in June, 2005, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mr. Brouwer was a pipeline welder and worked around Bethany in 1983 before he went to Texas. He was born in 1924 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Jacob Brouwer Sr. and Catherine Rozema. The elder Mr. Brouwer emigrated through Canada from the Dutch East Indies, where he was a printer. His wife came from Holland. Mr. Brouwer served in the Navy in World War II. He leaves two sons, Jack and Glenn, in the Los Angeles area and a daughter, Charlotte, in the East; his brother, John, in Nevada, and three nieces and a nephew in Colorado.
