Teresa M. Kopil (nee Anello), age 68, of Merrillville, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2003. She was a lifelong area resident, and a devout member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Teresa was formerly an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church, and its Rosary Sodality. A member of Msgr. Ryder Council-K of C Wives. A retired employee of Munster Steel Company, and a former employee of the Accounting Department of U.S. Steel-Sheet & Tin Division. A member of American Legion Auxiliary #367. A graduate of Lew Wallace High School, class of 1952. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Kopil in 1986, parents Philip and Adela Anello, and half-brother, Hector Macaluso. Teresa is survived by her children: Mary, Teri, Mick, Marty and Mark (Laura) Kopil, all of Merrillville, sister, Stina Anello of Merrillville. Also, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and lifelong friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2003 at 9:15 AM from Burns Funeral Home, to St. Joan of Arc Church for 10 AM Mass, with Fr. Andrew Corona officiating. Interment, Calumet Park Cemetery. Arrangements were completed by Savich & Semplinski Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 PM and Sunday, 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 PM at Burns Funeral Home, corner of 101st & Broadway, Merrillville/Crown Point. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Saturday and a Vigil Service will be offered at 4:30 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to the charity of one's choice.
