A military graveside service for Robert "Bob" Carroll, 84, of Waxahachie, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Conner Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be the senior adult class of Davis Street Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Robert "Bob" Carroll passed away at his residence Sunday evening, Dec. 25, 2011.
He was born in Sulphur Springs on May 17, 1927, the son of Leander Craton Carroll and Maidie Pearl (Giddens) Carroll.
He married Betty Ruth Gillham in Sulphur Springs in 1953. She preceded him in death in 2003.
Mr. Carroll was a retired washer/dryer repairman with Sears Roebuck. He was a member of Davis Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Catherine Finnell and husband, John, of Waxahachie, and one sister, Jo Nell Cleveland of Baytown.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be made to Davis Street Baptist Church and/or Conner Cemetery Association.
