OBITUARY:
Susannah Slater was born May 18, 1844, at Springfield, Illinois, and died January 26, 1928, at Elk City, Oklahoma, being at the time of her death 83 years, 9 months and 8 days old.
At fourteen years she moved with her parents to Dallas, Texas, where she grew to womanhood.
She was married to B. F. Hunsaker at Dallas, Texas, and to this union was born six children: N. M. Hunsaker, Colorado; Riley Hunsaker, Hobart, Oklahoma; W. H. Hunsaker, Mrs. Nannie Read of Elk City; a son Charles Hunsaker and a daughter, Fannie, preceding her in death.
Mrs. Hunsaker made her home with her daughter Mrs. Nannie Read, of 414 North Main, for the last fifteen years everyone speaking of the love and devotion shown her by Mrs. Read. No daughter could be more attentive. She was converted at the age of 16 years and became a member of the M. E. Church South, and lived a Christian throughout her entire life.
With heart full of gratitude for every kindness shown us during the illness and death of our dear mother and grandmother, Mrs. Susannah Hunsaker, we want to take this means of thanking each and every one of you and may God's richest blessings rest upon you all.
