Whitewater River. It is written in a New Trenton history:
"Widau Hotel & Dance Hall: This postcard* dates around 1910.
Salesmen would arrive on the passenger trains from the big cities
(mainly Cincinnati) and room at the hotel. Usually they'd rent a
horse from Gus and ride their routes from town to nearby Rockdale,
Sharptown, Drewersburg, South Gate, St. Leon and others, selling
their wares. There was only one phone listed in New Trenton in the
1910 Harrison directory and it was for the Gus Widau Hotel."
