Carroll Boutilier was a victim of the Halifax Explosion. He was killed along with his wife and two small sons.

He was a member of the extended Jackson family of Halifax by his marriage to Mary MacDonald. It is believed this family suffered the worse losses from the Explosion. Around sixty-six members of the extended family were in Halifax at the time and forty-five died.

He was born in Boutilier's Point, Halifax, the son of William James and Jane Loretta Boutilier.

He had the following siblings:

Carroll married Mary Elizabeth MacDonald on 22 Jan 1917. They had two sons:

Vincent (1915-6 Dec 1917)
Carroll, Jr (Aug 1917-6 Dec 1917).

At the time of the explosion, Carroll and his little family were living his parents-in-laws at 1498 Barrington Street.

Barrington Street was one of the hardest hit streets.

The remains of Carroll and his family were buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery. His son, Vincent, was never found.
